Description: Power Writing: Grades 2-8 one-on-one tutoring in book report, genre and critical essays. 2nd Grade English: held a daily class during summer session using designated course materials: grammar, reading, writing, spelling. HRN: Grades 2-5. Students read a book a week and worked on reading comprehension and vocabulary. Created vocabulary quizzes and wrote narrative grade summaries for all students.

Course: Creative Writing Workshop
Description: Co-facilitated creative writing workshop once a week after school for LAUSD high school students. Created syllabus and lesson plans. Conducted lessons on poetry and poetry writing, and led student writing workshop sessions. Mentored students and helped them create a body of work to be included in a published book.

The Children’s School on the NM School for the Deaf campus
Course: 4-5 year old classroom
Description: Worked in tandem with lead teacher to implement lesson plans, which taught fine and gross motor skills, pre-reading, number sense and social/emotional skills. Instructed the children in yoga and dance several times a month, and brought in many art projects and activities. Substitute taught for lead teacher in her absence. Also worked in After Care, which included caring for children from the Deaf School.
